"Leslie is knowledgeable, kind, and an excellent instructor. I found her class to be informative and accessible, and she goes out of her way to provide source material, which I appreciate as a scientist who is sometimes skeptical of alternative approaches. Her one-on-one consultation with me was very helpful for identifying issues with my current way of being and offering--but not pushing--alternatives. She makes a point to meet you where you are and understands that change can take time. Leslie is a force for good in the world, and right now, her teachings are more valuable than ever."

"Leslie is a born educator who teaches patiently and thoroughly - and experientially! She has an encyclopedic knowledge of plants and shares it generously with her students. I have learned so much from her over the past years: how to identify countless edible plants, how to harvest them ethically, how to work with them once gathered. My cupboard contains many oxymels and tinctures Leslie showed us how to make, and sometimes I just gather a snack from the meadow! She even teaches fun how-tos like pine needle soda and root beer from sassafras, not to mention wild-gathered pesto. I will never look at a lawn as "just grass" again :-)"

"Leslie is extremely knowledgeable and passionate when it comes to holistic healing and our relationship with herbs. I have learned so much about not only how herbs help but also just the science of how our bodies work in the natural world and how we can better manage it in this modern world we live in nowadays. With her expertise I learned from her classes, I have control over my health and a deeper understanding of why my body is reacting the way it does when it comes to stress or illness, and how I can better take care of it."

"I have taken many classes with Leslie like foraging, botany, and natural cooking classes and I have loved all of them! Leslie is the first person who exposed me to herbalism which has sparked such a love of plants in me and I will be always be grateful for that. I would recommend any of her courses, whether you are wanting to learn to live more seasonally or just to learn a little bit more about the environment around you. She is such a great teacher and is always willing to answer any questions. "

"I've taken in-person and online classes with Leslie. She's a fantastic teacher, incredibly knowledgeable, and creates a supportive and open learning environment. Although she's always well-prepared, she also recognizes specific interests of students, and isn't afraid to take a side path to veer from her plans to make sure questions are answered and needs are met. The course materials she provides following class are also great resources. I highly recommend learning with her! "

"Leslie’s gifts have blessed our family for years. The depth of her knowledge and wisdom pours forth from all that she offers. She has walked our land with us and introduced plant wisdom, taught us how to work with herbs medicinally, led us through initiations and rites of passages, guided us through meditations, offered us yogic practices and teachings and honored the natural state of awe and wonder of our children. The mirror with which she reflects the light of others, this beautiful natural world and ancient deep wisdom is pure. We are so grateful for Leslie’s presence in our lives! "

"I have attended two workshops that Leslie hosted for kids, the first one to make salves in the first one, and oils in the second one. Leslie is amazing with kids--she can easily hold their attention. My two kids had a great time in both of her classes and my daughter still picks out the plants we worked with in those workshops from over a year ago. She made a salad with a few of them just the other day. I also found it super helpful-- it has attuned me to my backyard in a whole different way, and that connection has lasted. It has opened up more curiosity for listening to and receiving from the plants around us, and also a portal into shifting our relationship with what we traditionally overlook (or even villianize) into more connection, and receptivity and magic. Leslie is a really knowledgeable and wonderful facilitator of this, and I'd strongly recommend her. "

"I first met Leslie through Kentucky Sustainability Living in Bowling Green, KY. She was giving a class on medicinal plants. I have always been interested in herbs and decided to take her class. During the class I realized not only was she talking about the power of herbs, but medicinal properties of the plants that grow in your own backyard. She gave me my first taste (not literally) of what our native plants have to offer, to heal and sustain our bodies. Her approach to the 5 Foundations of Health was very eye opening. I thought I could just give some Elderberry Syrup to my daughter when she was sick. Well, if the rest of her environment is clouded with non-nutritious food, soda, working midnight shifts, etc, then her body may not respond to the Elderberry Syrup very well. My personal journey not only is to be healthier, but to try to wean myself off of prescription drugs. I first began by talking to my doctor about which herbs may interfere with my medications. I then began working with Leslie to make my body healthier with herbs. She has been very instrumental in helping me along my journey and I greatly appreciate all her help. This has been one of the best, most important things I could do for myself now. Also, I love hiking and being in nature, so the foraging just goes along with it. Plus, my kids and grandkids love looking for the plants and mushrooms I am foraging."
